What are the differences between ceramic fiber alumina silicate blanket and ceramic fiber felt?
Customers often confuse ceramic fiber blanket with ceramic fiber felt. In fact, Alumium silicate fiber blanket and ceramic fiber felt are two completely different products. Although their raw materials and uses are similar, there are still many differences between the two in many aspects.
First of all, in terms of bulk density, the bulk density of ceramic fiber felt is between 220~250kg/m3, and the conventional bulk density of ceramic fiber insulation blanket is between 96kg/m3 and 128kg/m3. Therefore, felt is a relatively hard material. Ceramic fiber aluminum silicate blanket is relatively fluffy, has good resilience, is resistant to bending and tensile, and is made of loose cotton needle punching.
Then there is the use. Ceramic fiber blanket is relatively soft and can be wound and overlapped. It is widely used in practical applications, while ceramic fiber felt is relatively hard and can only be used flat, not folded or bent. For example, in pipe insulation, only ceramic fibre blanket can be used for wrapping, and felt cannot be used.
Comparison of thermal insulation effect: Because ceramic fiber blankets are relatively fluffy and have many gaps in the middle, they can well block the hot air flow. No matter what kind of bulk density, just choose a blanket of appropriate thickness. When the bulk density of the felt is 220kg/m3, the surface is rough. After use, there will be gaps between the furnace walls, and the thermal insulation effect is not as good as that of ceramic fiber blankets. If a material with a certain hardness is required, ceramic fiberboard can be used instead of felt.
Price comparison, the price of ceramic fiber blankets is only about half of that of ceramic fiber felts, and transportation and construction are relatively simple, so ceramic fiber blankets have better cost performance.
