WHAT ARE THE BINDING MODES OF REFRACTORY MATERIALS?(2)

(3) Polymerization binding – by adding a catalyst or crosslinking agent, the binding strength is generated by condensation polymerization of the binding agent to form a network structure.

(4) Ceramic combination – refers to low temperature sintering combination, that is, adding additives or metal powder in the bulk refractory can reduce the sintering temperature, in order to greatly reduce the liquid phase temperature, promote the solid-liquid reaction at low temperature and produce low temperature sintering combination.

(5) Adhesion binding — is produced by means of one of the following physical actions.

1. Physical adsorption: depending on the interaction between molecules a van der Waals force and the combination of;

2. Diffusion effect: under the action of the thermal movement of the material molecules, the binder and the molecules of the adhesive have mutual diffusion effect, forming a diffusion layer, so as to form a firm combination;

3. Electrostatic action: there is a double electric layer at the interface between the binder and the adhesive, which is combined by the electrostatic attraction of the double electric layer.

(6) Condensation and binding – the condensation of microparticles (colloidal particles) by adding a condensate agent results in binding.
