The proportion of high-alumina refractory ceramic balls are mainly affected by powder and sintering. Factors such as burning raw (uncooked), too thick powder, and adding miscellaneous materials will lead to insufficient proportion of ball stone. Ball stones with low specific gravity are not wear-resistant and are prone to cracking, but high specific gravity does not mean that ball stones are necessarily wear-resistant, because over-sintered ball stones can also achieve higher specific gravity.

The most important quality manifestation of ball stone is wear resistance. Some testing institutions can also do wear tests, but the data is for reference only, because the environmental conditions for testing in the laboratory are very different from the environment in production. It is water milled, and many manufacturers use it for dry grinding; secondly, many times no other raw materials are put into the test, only the friction between the balls and the balls, and various raw materials are added in the actual production process.
