What Are The Commonly Used Refractory Bricks in Cement Rotary Kilns?

The cement rotary kiln is a key piece of equipment in cement production. In order to ensure its efficient operation and long-term stability, the selection of appropriate refractory materials is crucial. The following are the refractory bricks commonly used in cement rotary kilns. Do you know them all?

refractory bricks for cement kiln

1. Phosphate bonded high alumina lining bricks
Phosphate bonded high alumina lining bricks include phosphate bonded high alumina bricks (referred to as phosphate bricks), and phosphate bonded high alumina wear-resistant bricks (referred to as wear-resistant bricks).

2.Magnesia refractory bricks
The brick's magnesium oxide content is not less than 91%, calcium oxide content is not more than 3%, and it is an alkaline refractory product with periclase as the main mineral.
3. Magnesia-aluminum spinel bricks
Magnesia-alumina spinel refractory bricks are magnesia bricks produced with magnesium-alumina spinel as the main mineral by adding alumina to the ingredients in order to improve the thermal shock stability of magnesia bricks.

4. Directly combine magnesia chrome bricks
In large kilns, when the kiln temperature is above 1700°C, ordinary magnesia-chromium refractory bricks are no longer capable. Direct combination of magnesia-chromium bricks is developed to adapt to the large-scale cement production - high-quality magnesia-chromium refractory materials.

5. Ordinary magnesia chrome bricks
Magnesia chrome brick contains MgO55%-80%, Cr2O3≥8%, the main minerals are periclase and chromium spinel, and the silicate phase is forsterite and forsterite.
6. Sodium polyphosphate bonded magnesia bricks
This brick is a chemically bonded magnesia brick, which uses high-calcium synthetic magnesia as aggregate, sodium polyphosphate as binder, and pulp waste liquid as hydration inhibitor.
7.Alkali-resistant bricks
It is an alkali-resistant clay refractory bricks with an Al2O3 content of 25-28%. The alkali in the kiln gas condenses on the brick surface and quickly reacts chemically with the brick surface to form a high-viscosity glaze layer, which seals the alkali from entering the brick body. The pores continue to erode, thus preventing "alkali cracking".

8. High alumina bricks

High alumina bricks are aluminum silicate refractory products with an alumina content of more than 48%.

In addition to refractory bricks, cement kilns also use other refractory products, common refractory castables, insulation and fireproof materials, etc., which Topower can provide. We also look forward to cooperating with you.
