The process proportions and production procedures of steel fiber wear-resistant castables and steel fiber castables are basically the same. The difference is that silicon carbide is added to the steel fiber wear-resistant castables. Silicon carbide is wear-resistant and plays a skeleton role in use.

1. The difference between the two
Both castables are formulated with an appropriate amount of stainless steel heat-resistant fiber. It also has excellent resistance to rapid cooling, rapid heating, and tensile resistance. The difference is that the impact resistance and wear resistance are different. Steel fiber wear-resistant castables are more wear-resistant than ordinary steel fiber castables. The addition of steel fibers , to prevent the castable from resisting the invasion of temperature gradient changes when starting and stopping the furnace, resisting stress damage, and enhancing the strength of the castable.
2. The performance of steel-fiber castable is more stable
Steel-fiber castables are generally used in furnace linings below 1350°C, while this castables added with silicon carbide are mostly used in boiler furnace exits and boiler side walls. When adding steel fiber and silicon carbide, the performance of the castable will be more stable and wear-resistant when used.
3. Description of the different functions of the two
These two castables belong to the same series, but their functions are different, mainly reflected in the difference in wear resistance. However, during construction, the pouring methods are the same, but in the process of production, there is a difference between adding and not adding silicon carbide. Just the ingredients, the amount of steel fiber and silicon carbide added and the construction are all important steps and links to improve the service life of steel fiber castables. When adding silicon carbide castables, pay attention to the oxidation content. Castables added with silicon carbide cannot be used in places with strong air cooling, because they will be oxidized by air cooling. In addition, the furnace lining in the oxidizing atmosphere is not suitable to choose, and the steel fiber wear-resistant castable with silicon carbide added is not suitable.
There are similarities and differences between steel fiber castables and steel fiber wear-resistant castables, and the quality of the materials used depends on the conditions of different furnace linings.
