Description
Fire brick is weakly acidic refractory product, which can resist the erosion of acidic slag and acid gas, and have a slightly weaker resistance to alkaline substances, good thermal performance, and resistance to rapid cold and heat
One of the most common types of products from the silica-alumina series is fireclay brick. They are formed of refractory clay as the binder and clay clinker as the aggregate and are refractory materials products with a 30–48% Al2O3 concentration.
Al2O3 percentage in fire brick produced in China typically exceeds 40%, whereas Fe2O3 level ranges between 2.0 and 2.5%. Between 65 and 85% of the constituents are clinker, and between 35 and 15% are clay. In order to create a semi-dry mud that can be more effectively molded under high pressure and burnt at approximately 1400°C, the combined crushed clay and the finely ground clinker are blended and pulverized before being combined with the granular clinker.The ability of fire brick to withstand alkaline slag erosion is marginally worse at high temperatures because it is weakly acidic, but it improves as the Al2O3 percentage rises. In comparison to magnesia and silica bricks, the thermal stability is superior.

Thermal boilers, glass kilns, cement kilns, fertilizer gas furnaces, hot blast furnaces, coking furnaces, electric furnaces, bricks for casting and pouring steel, etc. all use fire brick extensively.
