Sillimanite-Kyanite are both polymorphs of the mineral Al2SiO5, which means they have the same chemical formula but different crystal structures. . Kyanite is a regional metamorphic product occurring in crystalline schist and gneiss. When heated to 1300℃, kyanite into mullite, is a high-grade refractory material, used in the manufacture of spark plug, nozzle and other high temperature refractory ceramic products. Aluminum can also be extracted, beautiful and transparent crystals can be used as gems, with dark blue as the best.
