Chrome Corundum Castable
Products Description
The main components of chromium corundum refractory castable include aluminum oxide, chromium oxide and magnesium oxide. Among them, the amount of chromium oxide added can affect the specific surface area, acid corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance of chromium corundum. The high-temperature performance of chromium corundum castable is excellent and can be used for a long time in high temperature environments above 1500C without failure.
Chrome corundum castable is a high-performance corundum castable mainly made of high-purity corundum as aggregate and powder, mixed with an appropriate amount of industrial chromium oxide, aluminate cement as a binding agent, and various admixtures. Castables can be divided into two types: ordinary type and low expansion type. Low-expansion castables have a lower expansion coefficient, which can reduce damage caused by thermal expansion caused by high temperatures.

Products Raw Material Analysis
The primary raw materials for chrome corundum refractory castable include fused alumina, chrome oxide, bonding agents, and additives. These materials undergo stringent selection and processing to ensure high purity, uniform particle size, and optimal properties required for the castable
The preparation process of chromium corundum castable includes powder batching, preparation of molding slurry, casting and drying. Among them, the fineness and dispersion of the powder have a great impact on the quality of the castable.
Manufacturing chrome corundum refractory castable involves precisely blending selected raw materials to achieve the desired composition and properties. The mixture is then mixed with binders and additives, cast into desired shapes, and cured through controlled drying and firing processes

Products Features
High Temperature Resistance: Chrome corundum castable demonstrates exceptional resistance to high temperatures, maintaining structural integrity and stability in severe heat conditions.
Corrosion Resistance: Its chemical composition offers resistance to corrosion from slag, chemicals, and thermal shock, ensuring prolonged service life in harsh environments.
Excellent Wear Resistance: The castable showcases remarkable resistance to wear and erosion, making it suitable for applications subjected to abrasion and mechanical stress.
Product Production Process:
The production process involves meticulous preparation and blending of raw materials. The resulting mixture is then cast into shapes or linings, followed by controlled curing and firing at elevated temperatures, enabling the formation of a dense and robust refractory structure.
Products Advantage
Slag resistance:Chrome corundum refractory castable is made of ultrafine powder and low cement technology and is widely used in the field of steelmaking. Slag resistance is the main performance of chrome corundum refractory castables. During production, manufacturers need to adjust the added water-reducing agent and retardant according to the different situations of users and at different times.
When adding chromium oxide, the particle size of the refractory powder must be adjusted. Different particle size classifications will affect the performance of chromium corundum castables. Increasing the amount of Cr2O3 can improve the slag resistance of the castable, especially the resistance to slag penetration.
Enhanced Durability: The castable's superior resistance to thermal stress, chemical corrosion, and wear ensures prolonged service life and reduced maintenance requirements.
Tailored Solutions: Its flexible application methods allow for customized linings and shapes, providing efficient solutions for various high-temperature equipment.
Products Disadvantages
Disadvantages of chrome corundum castable:
After the reaction between Cr2O3 and AL2O3, an aluminum-chromium solid solution will be formed. When reacting with other impurities, a chromium-containing glass phase will be formed, which will form an island shape and fill between the chromium corundum crystals. The viscosity is large and can prevent the penetration of molten slag.
It is not that the more chromium oxide is added, the better the slag resistance will be. If you add too much, the faults will peel off under the action of thermal reaction force, and it is easy to block the ventilation channels, so it is best to add 3-6%.
Products Application
Chrome corundum castable serves as linings in steelmaking converters, ladles, refining furnaces, and various high-temperature equipment across industries. Its resilience and adaptability make it indispensable for ensuring performance and longevity in extreme heat conditions.
The main use of chromium corundum castable is as a lining material for steel smelting furnaces, which can resist corrosion and erosion of molten metal at high temperatures.
Chromium corundum castable has good wear resistance and corrosion resistance, which can effectively resist the erosion and wear of metal liquid and extend the service life of the furnace.
