Ceramic Fiber Paper

Ceramic fiber paper is a lightweight refractory material that Topower makes in Shandong, China. We form it from high purity aluminum silicate ceramic fiber by a wet forming process. The fiber is fiberized and blended from high-purity alumina-silica, or from alumina-silica-zirconia, and then formed into a thin, flexible paper-like sheet. We also produce soluble fiber paper on the same wet-forming route. It is a calcium-magnesium sheet with an 1100°C working temperature.

The build runs six steps: raw fiber, blending, shaping, drying, polishing, and cutting. We raise the raw fiber to high purity through crushing, pulping, and slag removal. A diluted adhesive turns the pulp into paper stock. The pulp is vacuum-formed on a long net wire, dried evenly by microwave, then polished and cut to the roll size. Finished rolls are packed into boxes.

The paper is a composite insulator made from high purity ceramic fiber and a specific binder. It has great fire resistance and can tolerate temperatures in excess of 1300°C. Its construction holds strength and fire resistance while it improves heat resistance. The sheet does not contain asbestos and does not act with liquid aluminum.

Key features: low thermal conductivity, low heat capacity, and thermal shock resistance. The paper also offers good flexibility and tear resistance, good electrical insulation, sound insulation, and mechanical processing performance. The texture is tough and compressive strength is high.

When the insulation has to keep its own shape rather than flex, ceramic fiber board covers 1000°C to 1550°C working temperature.

We supply it in three grades: DK-1260, DK-1350, and DK-1430. The grade sets the temperature and the chemistry.

DK-1260 has a working temperature of 1000°C and a specification temperature of 1260°C. Its Al2O3 content is 47% and its SiO2 content is 52%. DK-1350 has a working temperature of 1100°C and a specification temperature of 1350°C. Its Al2O3 content is 48% and its SiO2 content is 51%.

DK-1430 has a working temperature of 1300°C and a specification temperature of 1430°C. Its Al2O3 content is 35% and its ZrO2 content is 13-15%.

All three grades share a bulk density of 200 kg/m³, a tensile strength of 0.4 MPa, and an organic matter content of 8% or less. Fe2O3 content is 0.5% for DK-1260 and DK-1350, and 0.2% for DK-1430. Na2O content is 0.2% for all three grades.

Choose DK-1260 for general furnace and gasket work. Choose DK-1350 when the working temperature is higher. Choose DK-1430 when you need both the highest working temperature in the range and the zirconia-bearing chemistry.

Both 610 mm and 1220 mm widths are available. Thickness runs from 0.5 mm to 10 mm. A thicker roll is shorter and a thinner roll is longer; the 0.5 mm build runs to 100000 mm and the 10 mm build to 6000 mm. Custom thickness, density, width, and roll length are available, and OEM packing is available. Minimum order is 50 rolls.

Where you need a thicker insulation layer, ceramic fiber blanket runs from 64 to 160 kg/m³ and reaches a 1500°C recommended working temperature in the PC BLT grade.

The paper also serves the chemical, construction, electronics, aerospace, military, air conditioning, and refrigeration fields. In a sealing job it is cut to the joint shape. For sealing that needs a finished part, ceramic fiber gasket is punched or cut from ceramic fiber cardboard in 1 to 10 mm thickness. As a heat barrier it sits between a hot face and a cooler part. In electrical work it insulates a heating device.

Paper is the thin end of a lining. For a full furnace wall, ceramic fiber modules are pre-compressed blocks in STD, HP, HZ and PC grades up to 1600°C. That range is why one grade can cover several departments in a plant.

We pack the paper to a safety sea-exporting packing standard. The inside layer is a plastic bag. The outside layer is a hard paper carton. We load the finished packed material at our factory into a container and support door to door delivery. Minimum order is 50 rolls.

Is this the same as ceramic fibre paper?
Yes. The two spellings describe the same material. Buyers also write ceramic paper and ceramic fibre paper roll for the same product.

What temperature can this paper handle?
It depends on the grade. DK-1260 works to 1000°C with a specification temperature of 1260°C. DK-1350 works to 1100°C with 1350°C specification. DK-1430 works to 1300°C with 1430°C specification.

Does this paper contain asbestos?
No. It does not contain asbestos and does not act with liquid aluminum.

What sizes do you supply?
Rolls in 610 mm and 1220 mm width, thickness from 0.5 mm to 10 mm, and roll lengths as listed above. Custom sizes are available.

Which grade should I pick?
Match the grade to your working temperature. Use DK-1260 for 1000°C working, DK-1350 for 1100°C working, and DK-1430 for 1300°C working. Send the application and we will confirm.
