High alumina brick can be divided into three levels according to the AL2O3 content, and the AL2O3 of first level high aluminum bricks is greater than 75%; AL2O3 of secondary high aluminum brick is 60%-75%; The aluminum content of third-level high aluminum bricks is 48%-60%, and those with AL2O3 lower than 48% are collectively referred to as clay bricks. It has high heat resistance and high temperature resistance at 1770°C and above. High alumina brick has good slag resistance and are mainly used for masonry of steel-making electric furnaces, glass furnaces, cement rotary furnaces, etc.

1. Refractoriness

High alumina brick has higher refractoriness than refractory clay bricks and semi-silica bricks, up to 1750-1790C, and belong to high-grade refractory materials.

2. Load softening temperature

Because high alumina has higher alumina content, lower impurity content and lower molten glass body shape, the refractory softening temperature is higher than that of refractory clay bricks. However, because the mullite crystals have not yet formed a network structure, the load softening temperature is lower than that of silica bricks.

3. Slag resistance

High Al2O3 content is high, close to neutral refractory material, can resist acid slag and alkali slag erosion. Because it contains silica, its resistance to alkali slag is lower than that of acid.
