Description
What is silica brick?
Silica bricks belong to acid refractory fire brick with above 94% high quality SiO2 content materials. The refractoriness of raw silica materials increases with increasing SiO2 content. Tridymite, ashlar, and vitric are minerals found in silica bricks and were created at high temperatures. Silica refractory brick in Topower Refractory has high stability under high temperature (1620~1670℃)and pressure stresses. The silica bricks have excellent long-term volume stability at high temperatures.
Features
1.Resistance to Acid-Base
The silica brick is an acid refractory material that is highly resistant to erosion from acid slag and CaO, FeO, and Fe2O3 oxides. However, silica fire brick is easily harmed by Al2O3 oxide when alkali slag has severely corroded it.
2.Expansibility
The thermal conductivity and mass of silica refractory brick increase as the service temperature rises. During baking, there is no linear after contraction. The expansion amount during baking is approximately 70–75% of the total expansion amount before 300°C, with the largest expansion occurring between 100 and 300°C. During the baking process, SiO2 experiences four crystalline form inversion points at 117, 163, 180270, and 573°C. which cristobalite primarily affects between 180 and 270°C.
3.Thermal resistance performance
The silica brick has good stability under the high temperature. The spectrum of applications for silica refractory brick is constrained by its low thermal shock resistance and refractoriness, which is around 1690–1730°C. The most crucial factor affecting the heat conductivity of silica fire bricks is true density. There will be less after-expansion while baking because to the lower actual density and more complete lime conversion.

Application
Silica refractory brick is primarily used to build coking chambers for coke ovens, combustor partition walls, glass furnace kiln walls, and calcining kilns for silicate products. Using high density refractory silica bricks when constructing large-scale coke ovens so that the walls of the combustion chamber and coking chamber can be made thinner to increase productivity.

Productive Process
How Silica Bricks Are produced?
Tridymite, cristobalite, silica, and glass phase are used to create silica bricks, with natural silica serving as the primary raw material. Mineralizer is then added in the proper quantities, and the mixture is then poured into a binding agent.
Manufacturing of Silica Bricks
Silica rock having a SiO2 content of more than 96% is used to make silica bricks along with molasses, lignosulfite, and mineralizers like iron or lime milk. The steps of mixing, molding, drying, and burning are then used to create the silica bricks. The most dangerous contaminants in the production of silica bricks include Al2O3, K2O, Na2O, and others that significantly lower the degree of refractoriness of refractory goods.
